Tai Chi for Relaxation and Better Health

Tuesdays — 5:30 - 6:30 PM

Ideal for active adults who are either beginners or more experienced participants.

This program is based on the most popular tai chi form in the world, the Yang 24 Forms. The Tai Chi for Health Institute has modified the form as necessary to ensure that it is safe, effective and accessible for all.

Newcomers to tai chi will enjoy the gentle and relaxing movements as they improve their balance, flexibility and strength. More experienced tai chi practitioners will discover in the Yang 24 a challenging set of tremendous depth and beauty that includes such powerful movements as “White Crane Flashes Wings,” and “Repulse Monkey.”

All participants will experience better health and wellness through regular class attendance and daily practice.

Gentle Tai Chi

Tuesdays — 10:00 - 11:00 AM

For beginners with physical limitations and older students

Daily exercise is essential for health and happiness, but for most people finding a safe effective exercise is a challenge as we grow older. Fortunately, tai coffers a gentle workout that can heal and strengthen.

In this on-going weekly class, we will learn and practice several tai chi forms that are endorsed “safe, effective, and accessible” by the Tai Chi for Health Institute. We will also learn a 5 element Qi Gong, or a “life force cultivation” exercise that uses deep breathing and simple movement to cultivate energy and clarity. Ample time will be available for sharing our experiences with tai chi.

This class emphasizes the importance of moving in our comfort zone.
